Product Review: SEPHORA's Sculpting Disk

SEPHORA's Sculpting Disk!

By far my most favourite combination of Bronzing powder, Highlighting powder and Maifying powder. Firstly, its really convenient to have all of them in one compact. Secondly, its huge! So it can be used for quite a long time, not unless youre makeup crazy and use tonnes of them onto your face ;p Thirdly, its reasonably priced at $30. And lastly, all 3 powders are really good and i'll tell you why.

The bronzing powder has a slight shimmer. Slight shimmer is good for bronzing powders as it gives your face that healthy glow youve always wanted. Matte bronzing powders makes your face dull and boring. It is only good when applying for stage makeup as for stage you wont want your face to be shimmering so much under all those spotlights. However, on a daily basis, slightly shimmered bronzing powder works great! The colour stain is good and the colour works well for Asian skin as it compliments our slightly yellowish/brownish skin tone. Can also be used as eyeshadow for contouring on the crease or onto the eyelids!

The highlighting powder is in a very pale, light peachy pink colour which is great to compliment pink to apricot blushers. The pigment is awesome and the thing i like about this particular powder is that it doesnt make your face extremely shiny. It just gives you a hint of glow when applied onto cheekbones. You never want too much highlighting as it may make your face appear bigger and wider if applied excessively and onto the wrong areas on your face. Can also be used as eyeshadow onto the eyelids or as a highlight onto your brow bones!

The Matifying powder, lastly, is used to matify your entire face after full makeup is applied. However, do not apply it over your higlighting powder. Simple apply it over the entire face avoiding the areas you highlight and apply just a little onto your contours so that there is still shimmer left ont he right areas on your face. The end result i receive when using this matifying powder is that my makeup appears more porcelain and smooth. It also allows your makeup to hold for a slightly longer period of time. The shade is great for fair to medium skin tone. However if you have really dark skin tone, i would not recommend you to use this shade of matifying powder as it will result in greying skin when too light of a powder is applied onto dark skin. You should try SEPHORA's matifying powder in a darker shade.

The only disadvantage i find is that the sculpting powder comes in only this combination of shades. I don't know if thats the case or it was out of stock when i came to the store to purchase but thats the only one i saw. It would be great if they had more than one combination. Better still, give customers the opportunity to pick their own combination!

HAPPY TRYING! :)

P.S. Wait up for my latest Halloween look, spooooooooky doll~
