Yes, i'm Certified!

In case you didn't know, i'm a certified makeup artist! I'm certified by Cosmoprof Academy doing Diploma in Professional Makeup Artistry. Many people nowadays have the mentality that talent comes with certificates. FYI, they don't. It doesn't define one's talent. Certs are only there for people like me to be more confident in pursuing what we love to do.

However, i must say that the Academy has helped me improve on my skills and techniques. It taught me so much more about the industry and how to succeed in it. Yes i had knowledge and experience way before i entered the academy but that wasn't a big deal because once you enter the academy, all knowledge from previous experience had to be deleted in order for me to start learning, in detailed, the basics. That was more important. Without the basics, it is difficult for one to understand the art of makeup. What more to pursue it. I had coursemates who had absolutely no experience and knowledge of makeup at all in the beginning and yet they graduated and aced it.

If you're thinking of joining an academy yourself, i would recommend Cosmoprof. It has taught me things like how to achieve the perfect brows and perfect base all the way to hairstyling and special effects. The duration of the course is not too short and not too long. Its over a period of 5-6 months if you're doing part time and around 3 months if you're doing full time (If i'm not wrong). The number of students per class is limited to 16 and during every class, you'll have to pair up. To me, the class size is indeed a little big but the teachers make an effort to give you one on one time whenever they can. Plus, they are very approachable so there's no issue at all about asking and getting answers. The only downside i would say is probably the cost of the course. Its quite pricey to enter the academy but its worth it. It is recognised and it would be a breeze for you to enter the cosmetics industry such as Bobbi Brown or MAC makeup. Bridal companies will also look for certs like this. If you've got the skills they want, they'll hire you without a doubt.

So, i'm here to tell you that Cosmoprof Academy is a trusted organisation and has been one for so many years already. I do have to remind you again that the cert alone doesn't do much. It has to come with hardwork and perseverance in order to succeed! So all the best to future Cosmoprof students! ;D
