Product Review: Make Up For Ever Mist & Fix

Hi everyone! So, this is SQeen's very first product review and i'm gonna try my best to give you full information on this product and give you sufficient knowledge on it so it'll make it easier for you to decide on whether to purchase the product or not. So here it goes!


The main thing i'll always fuss about after a long day out is when my makeup doesn't stay. Its frustrating when i have people to meet all day long and my makeup fails on me. The last thing i want is to look oily and awful in front of the many people i'm seeing. So, after a few bad experiences, i've decided to invest in products that will make my makeup stay longer like primers and fixing powders or sprays. I have invested in a few such as the Loreal Paris Base Magique transforming smoothing primer, Sephora matifying powder foundation and the Make Up For Ever Mist & Fix. I'll give you reviews on the few products mentioned but as for now i'd like to share my review on the last product mentioned, the Make Up For Ever Mist & Fix.

What is stated at the back of this product:
Mist & Fix, a light and comfortable spray containing Chitosan Marine extracts, sets makeup perfectly and acts as an invisible barrier against extreme conditions (environmental pollutants, temperature changes, etc...)

If you're planning to buy this product, i'd say yes yes YES! This product is amazing. What it does is it sets your makeup and gives you that baby smooth complexion. I've used this product for quite some time now, prolly about a few months, and i'm loving it. I have very oily and sensitive skin which is pimple prone and this product does not irritate my skin at all. Plus, it does not have a strong scent i would say, so it does not give out any sort of smell. I mean because some people don't like their makeup smelling like their perfume. So different people might have different opinions on this. 


The way i would use it:

1. Spray it onto my face, 3-5 times, from different angles after i have done my entire makeup. Sets my makeup and gives me a smooth finish.
2. Spray it onto my foundation brush and swipe it across my face after using only foundation and concealer. Sets my foundation making it last longer.

I would be lying if i said while using this product i didn't have to touch up at all because i'm actually a sweat queen and the product is not waterproof. So yes, i had to but it wasn't as many times as i would have to if i didn't use the product. My face would get a little oily on the T-zone area but other than that it fixes my makeup well enough that nothing smudges. Everything would still be in place and i didn't have to face troubles wiping off eye liner or mascara running down my face. 


However, the only main downside of this product is that the nozzle doesn't work as well as it should. One spray and too much product might get onto only one spot on your face and it doesn't squirt as well to cover your entire face if you're not careful with the distance of bottle to face. As stated, you will have to spray from a distance of 12-16 inches. I will usually spray on about 3-5 times depending on what activities i might be doing for the day. So if you're just going out to chill and have fun, i'd say 3 sprays across the entire face would be sufficient. If you're doing something more on the active side then spray more than usual, although i would encourage you not to use heavy makeup when doing active stuff. Everything will be clogged into your pores and your skin won't be able to breathe. So don't!


I totally forgot how much i bought it for. However, if i find out again soon, i'll update the post. But one thing i know is that its a little on the pricey side. So anyway, it comes in 0.84 oz and 4.22 oz spray bottles. Mine is the larger bottle. A few months has passed and its still quite full, as seen in the picture. I can't provide you with alternatives for now but i will totally inform you if i ever come across a better product. For now, i personally think this is the best fixing spray!


To sum it up: 

♥ Sets makeup and gives a porcelain finish without making face look cakey as it evens out skin tone

♥ Holds makeup well and keeps makeup fresh-looking

♥ Doesn't irritate skin and has a mild scent 

♥ Product is moisturizing and gives a dewy effect (especially under sunlight) so i wouldn't recommend it if you want a matte look

I would rate this product 8/10.

Would i repurchase this? YES
